Brae Farm Guided Tours Start Autumn 2025!
Visitors to Brae now have the rare opportunity to tour Brae Farm, our regenerative agriculture project, with Brae Head Gardener, Jo Lawson.
Guests are invited to join an in-depth, one-hour guided tour of our 20-acre organic farm, every Friday morning at 11am.
Jo will guide guests through the entire property. Together, they’ll visit Brae Farm’s vegetable production areas, fruit orchards, olive grove and polytunnel. Guests will see where and how our organic fruit, vegetables, citrus, nuts, berries, honey and grain crops are grown for use in our menus. They’ll get a first-hand look at our seasonal production, taste some of the varieties being harvested and see which crops are being planted.
Participants will learn about our regenerative agriculture project, which contributed to Brae gaining three-star accreditation from the Sustainable Restaurant Association in 2024. Jo will cover composting, waste management systems, cover cropping, soil health, organic pest management and biodynamics.
Jo joined Brae in November, 2022. She has a wealth of experience in biodynamic and organic market gardening around Australia, the USA, and Italy. Prior to Brae, Jo ran her own commercial organic market garden – growing and selling organic herbs, fruits and vegetables as The Green Acre, in Apollo Bay. She knows The Otways well and has a deep understanding of our mild climate and the challenges of growing heritage and unusual varieties here, adding to our ability to sustain consistently high quality and quantity of a wide range of specialty organic produce year-round.
Advance bookings are required.
Farm tours can be booked online together with a Friday lunch reservation, or with a Thursday dine and stay reservation.
Brae Farm Tour participants meet every Friday at 10.45am for an 11am departure, beginning March 7th, 2025.
Cost: $30 per person, including a house-made, non-alcoholic beverage, made from Brae Farm produce.
